Tennis Elbow
Lateral epicondylitis, meizitang soft slimming, also referred to as tennis elbow is a painful condition of the elbow caused by overuse and it happens over time. It is basically an inflammation of the tendons that join the forearm muscles on the outside of the elbow.
In racket sports, overuse of the forearm muscles and repeated impact can increase the risk of tennis elbow developing. Other factors that may contribute to tennis elbow include lack of strength, poor technique, and more duration or intensity of play.
ANATOMY
Elbow anatomy includes the elbow joint which is a complex joint and structures surrounding it,meizitang soft slimming. This joint is formed by the articulation of three bones namely
the lower end of humerus (arm bone)
the upper end of radius (forearm bone)
the upper end of ulna (forearm bone)
Due to the involvement of three bones the elbow consists of three joints
 between humerus and ulna (ulno-humeral)
 between humerus and radius (radio-humeral)
between ulna and radius (radio-ulnar joint)
Muscles, ligaments, and tendons hold the elbow joint together.
SYMPTOMS
The symptoms of tennis elbow develop gradually. In most cases, usually happen during or after intense use.
Common signs and symptoms of tennis elbow include:
pain located on the outer aspect of the elbow
lifting or grasping objects may be difficult
pain is increased by activities such as
o taking a book from a high shelf
o writing on a black board
The symptoms are often worsened with forearm activity, such as holding a racquet, turning a wrench, or shaking hands. Your dominant arm is most often affected; however both arms can be affected.
TREATMENT
Non-surgical methods
Because this injury if caused by overuse of the wrist muscles that pull the hand up, it is advised to stat with REST. It is also recommended to stop all activities that cause the pain. Patient can also use RICE method (Rest, meizitang soft slimming, Ice, Compression, Elevation) to reduce pain and swelling.
-Occupational therapy, primarily for stretching and strengthening of the wrist extensor musculature
-Physical therapy
-Trigger point therapy
-Anti-inflammatory medication and ointments (Biofreeze) may help reduce inflammation and pain.
EXERCISE TO HELP THE RECOVERY
A simple exercise for tennis elbow pain has been showing promising and immediate results for many patients, meizitang soft slimming. The exercise is a simple eccentric wrist extensor movement using a flexible rubber bar, meizitang soft slimming. The exercise involves twisting a rubber Flexbar with one hand and resisting the bar as it untwists using the injured arm. The result is an eccentric contraction (movements that cause muscle to contract while it lengthens) of the wrist extensor muscles on the injured forearm. Watch a video of the exercise on YouTube *.
Because recurrence of this condition is common, return to activity should not occur too quickly, and preventive exercises that stretch and strengthen the muscles should be done consistently.
If nonsurgical forms of treatment do not eliminate the pain of this condition, surgery may be recommended. A hand surgeon will offer advice regarding potential treatments and the possible outcomes of various surgical options. Lateral epicondylitis left untreated, is often a nagging or chronic condition sometimes requiring many months for healing to occur. Prompt diagnosis and treatment is important for anyone suffering from elbow pain.
