The lists goes on and on but a better quality of life and a longer life should be sufficient to get you on a good exercise plan. The reason the binge day helps you with your dieting, other than mentally, is because when you reduce your caloric intake, your body has a certain way of responding that will make it harder to lose weight. Your body in essence thinks that the hunting and gathering has gotten harder and that it better prepare for a long winter of meager meals. So it slows your metabolism and begins the process of converting some of your muscle to energy and saves your body fat. “By god the fat is our final reserve, I’m not gonna let them take that from us or we’ll starve,” thinks your loyal if somewhat clueless body. And this is the last thing you want your body to do or think for that matter. You are trying to lose the fat, right?But you can’t just over-rule the natural defense mechanisms, at least not yet. So fool your body into thinking that the crops have come in and the harvest is plentiful, by indulging yourself for one day a week. When you eat this way, your body will not go into preservation mode and you will be able to lose the weight and more importantly the fat more easily.
